This page explains what Don's Garage Automotive and Transmission collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and who sees it. Plain language, no dark patterns.
Who is collecting my information?
Don's Garage Automotive and Transmission, 5515 Washington St, Denver, CO 80216. We are the party that decides what is collected and why, and the party your requests under this policy go to. Phone (303) 295-2448, or reach us through the contact page.
What information do you collect?
From the Free Fleet Audit form (/free-fleet-audit/): your name, phone number and/or email (we need at least one to get back to you), company name, fleet size, the types of vehicles you run, and anything you type into the free-text box. We do not ask for financial account numbers or government ID, and we don't want them.
When you submit that form, our system also records the page you submitted it from and your IP address. The IP address is kept in the notes on your lead record, in plain form, so we can tell a real inquiry from abuse.
From tapping a phone number on this site: we log that a call button was tapped, which page it was on and which button, your browser's user-agent string (the make-and-version text every browser sends), the time, and a scrambled one-way fingerprint of your IP address (a SHA-256 hash). We do not store your raw IP address for these events. This log does not create a lead and does not record your phone number. The call itself is an ordinary phone call.
Calculators and quizzes (transmission quiz, fleet downtime calculator, repair-or-replace calculator): these run entirely in your browser. What you type in is not sent to us and is not stored. Estimate pages are read-only pages; they have no form.
Why do you collect it, and who sees it?
To get back to you about your inquiry. The shop does its own work; we don't pass your inquiry to another company to fulfil. Your submission lands in our lead dashboard, which is the software that holds our leads, and is seen by the shop staff who handle customer inquiries. The dashboard runs on Talk to Porter, a lead management platform. Talk to Porter processes and stores this data on our behalf for the purpose of managing customer inquiries.
Is my information sold or shared?
No. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing, and we do not rent or trade lists. Under the Colorado Privacy Act, that means there is nothing to opt out of on this site.
How is it stored?
Free Fleet Audit submissions are stored as lead records in our database. Call-button events are stored in a separate log table. The site is served over HTTPS, so your submission is encrypted in transit. Our servers briefly hold your IP address in memory to limit how fast any one address can send requests; that in-memory count is not written to the database.
How long do you keep it?
Our policy is to keep lead records and call-button logs for up to 24 months for scheduling and follow-up, and then delete them. Ask us to delete your information sooner (below) and we'll do that instead of waiting out the clock.
Do you track me or use cookies?
This site sets no cookies, runs no advertising or social pixels, and uses no third-party analytics service. The only thing it saves in your browser is your light/dark display choice, which stays on your device.
Two outside services are loaded when you view pages, and each can see your IP address and browser details the way any website you load can: Google Fonts (on every page, for the typefaces) and Google Maps (only on pages with an embedded map, such as the contact page). Their handling of that data is covered by Google's own privacy policy, not this one.
We do not send you marketing email.
What are my rights under Colorado law?
The Colorado Privacy Act gives Colorado residents the right to access the personal data we hold about you (including a portable copy), correct it, and delete it. To use any of these, call (303) 295-2448 or use the contact page and say what you want. No account, and no verification beyond confirming you are who you say you are. The call-button log stores only a hashed IP address, so we may not be able to identify which entries are yours. If a request is declined, you can appeal by replying to the answer, and the appeal gets a fresh look. This policy and any dispute under it are governed by Colorado law.
Changes to this policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
